#SPANISH PODENGO PLUS#
Podencos are active dogs and he will need a family who have the time and energy to get him out and about regularly.Ī fully fenced and secure garden would be a great plus for Rayo, and we feel he could happily share with a canine companion. He still doesn’t like to be left alone at home, so his future parents have to be willing to keep working on this issue.
#SPANISH PODENGO HOW TO#
He travels well in the car and knows how to walk on a lead and he absolutely loves being outdoors.
Rayo is social with other dogs and also behaves well with cats after a right introduction. Rayo is a sensitive but positive boy, always trying to please and he’s doing so well in adapting to all the changes around him. He needs routine and consistency to encourage his housetraining and manners and gentle encouragement when he hears unexpected noises on his walks and is meeting new people. Rayo will need ongoing training once he’s adopted, as he may be experiencing life in a home for the first time. He now knows how great it can be to receive affection and attention, and has been learning all about life in a home. He just needed some time to learn to trust people again and his foster home have worked brilliantly with him. Rayo was very shy and nervous when he first arrived. This breed is one of the most mistreated in Spain, but luckily for Rayo, he’s now safe in the care of his foster home in Northern Spain and ready to find his forever family. We believe he may have been abandoned by a hunter, as is often the case with Podenco mixes who aren’t good at their “job”. He is a little ray of sunshine who appeared in our lives as a stray.
